On this day… :(

Query, what difference does a year make? A lot, a little, a bit? What does it even matter? Why even bring this up, well there is a very good reason for that…
For we have reached the one year anniversary that Olle Morell(CP) was stolen from this world by the insidious beast known as cancer.
What has changed over this past year? Not much, the shock of it has not subsided, nor has the void that was left by his sudden loss been smoothed over by the passing days. The hollow feeling that was filled by his friendship can never be replaced…
His loss is still being felt here at L-E and all over the Anime community in general. For it was said many times before that what he gave of himself, went far above and beyond most others in the Anime world, and losing him sent out shockwaves that are still being felt today.
It was suggested that some kind of tribute video/ anime (something like that) be made for this date, but that sort of fell through, (IMHO) it would be trying to make a tribute to lost limb or eye…
And so here we are, a year later, the numbness remains, still trying to come to terms with it.
Olle… wherever you are, you are in our hearts and minds forever…

A heartfelt thanks to Suzaku for writing and posting this. It still feels just like yesterday when I heard the unfortunate, shocking, and unexpected passing of my dear friend and fellow fansubber, CP. I remember wishing it was all a bad dream or something. My heart was shattered into a trillion pieces on this day, one year ago. I will say this again and keep on saying it forever: I’m very humbled and grateful to have had a chance to get to know CP and become friends with him. He made my life and others lives better. Just talking with him would brighten up the worst of days. I learned so much from him about fansubbing and life in general. For that, I thank him with all my heart and soul. Domo Arigatou gozaimashita, CP. _(_ _)_
I never knew CP, but I wish I did. I have heard many legends of him, and to me, he sounds like an amazing fansubber, but more so than that, an amazing person. Someone you would never want to lose. The fact that the anime community lost a person like CP hurts me, even though I never had the pleasure of talking to him.
So, here’s to you, CP. Your legacy is remembered.
I’m sure if CP was still around, he would have liked you and helped you out any way that he could. Being helpful and wanting to help others came so naturally to him. But fear not, his legacy will be the shining beacon to lead you down the right path of fansubbing. 😉
CP was a great friend, a great Life-eviL member, and a great person. I enjoyed every moment I worked with him. Life isn’t fair sometimes.
heh *Live-eviL
I feel like that was a fortuitous typo that CP would have caught in QC 😀
I don’t think that there goes a week when I don’t recall CP. Everytime, I see some anime we talked about, I remember him.
So many anime series would never have been subbed if it weren’t for him.
I hope that there’s some anime paradise up there for CP…
Yeah, I know how you feel konna. I actually think about CP almost every day. Every time I log into IRC, fansub something, or watch a type of anime he would like, I remember him. But that’s good because it means his spirit lives on inside my heart. 🙂
Good on you all for remembering CP as warmly as you have. ^^
Gone, but never forgotten.
I didn’t know the guy because the truth is that people who are not fansubbers themselves never care to learn who do all this work for them in order to be able to enjoy their favorite shows, but although we never learn your names or have the chance to know you better we are always appreciate the hard work you are doing for us, anyway I would like to express my condolences to his family & friends even with 1 year delay, they say good people go to heaven & if I judge by how much you miss him all of you, he must have been a very nice guy, so I’m sure he is there already, RIP Olle Morell(CP).
It’s true only good people go to Heaven. And not to be insensitive at all, but Romans 3:12 says “there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” The only way to truely be good is to repent of your sins have your faith in Jesus Christ, so that His goodness is credited to your account.
That aside, CP sounded like a totally nice guy, and it’s really sad when nice people have to leave this world in horrible ways. It really doesn’t seem like its already been a year since.
Maybe the fact that not a lot of people who come here knew him all that well is an indication that the forums need to be more active? Just a thought.
A sad day indeed. Rest in peace, Olle.
cancer sucks… RIP CP
cancer does suck, bad.
