In a terrible loss to the Anime community, and the world in general, it has been announced that renowned manga creator, illustrator, and designer Leiji Matsumoto passed away on February 13 at 11:00 a.m. due to acute heart failure.
His notable works include Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, and Queen Emeraldas and Space Battleship Yamato.

His impact on culture in Japan and beyond can not even begin to be measured, he will be sorely missed by one and all.
